However, it\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">wasn\u2019t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0an easy journey getting here.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">he\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">struggled with\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/progyny.com\/education\/female-infertility\/what-is-endometriosis\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">endometriosis<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">went through\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">six rounds of\u00a0failed\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/progyny.com\/education\/ivf-facts\/what-is-ivf\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">IVF<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0cycles<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, an\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/progyny.com\/education\/female-infertility\/ectopic-pregnancy\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">ectopic pregnancy<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0then<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">just when she thought she found her solution through a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/progyny.com\/education\/lgbtq-family-building\/what-is-gestational-surrogacy-how-does-it-work-with-dr-shahin-ghadir\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">gestational carrier<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">, they backed out. Despite these setbacks, Amanda kept moving forward. She\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">decided to reevaluate her current setup and look for a more supportive clinic that would\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">be\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">confident<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0in her family building goals.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Luckily, she found Dr. Klatsky and his team at Spring Fertility, who would get to the bottom of her\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">infertility.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span data-contrast=\"none\">So, as you listen to this episode, think about\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">your current support system. She knew she\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">wasn't<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0done trying and she also knew that if she were to carry on with another round of IVF, she needed to find a clinic and a doctor that she could have confidence in. And not to be understated, she also wanted to find a doctor who would have confidence in her.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Amanda Lesesne:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">I\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">didn't<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0think I was going to build our family there, so I had to make the decision not only to continue to pursue treatment, but what was I going to do next, like where was I going to find the perfect provider for me.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dan Bulger:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Finding the right doctor and clinic for you is paramount. First, you need to make sure the doctor and clinic are modern and well,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">let's<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0just say legitimate. And a great way to do this is to see if their members are in good standing with SART, the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology. But after you locate clinics that are practicing the latest medicine, then you need to find a fit, a fit with the doctor and a fit with the care team. And a fit is about personality. But\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">it's<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0also about specialty. And\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">of course,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0there are a lot of other things to consider. But finding the legitimate clinic and then finding the one that feels right is a whole lot better than just going to the one with the biggest parking lot. And Amanda who is no stranger to different fertility clinics<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0b<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">y this point<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">found herself looking for a clinic once again. Only this time, she knew she needed a better fit. And in the first retrieval, she got one mature egg. But<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">that egg was good quality and made it to a blastocyst. And in her second retrieval, she also got a mature egg, and made it to a blastocyst. And<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0after we tested it, it was normal.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dan Bulger:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Normal.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">That word is one of the most beautiful words when talking about embryos.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr.\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Peter\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Klatsky:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">And I told her at that point, she probably had a 65% chance of a live birth.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dan Bulger:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">It only takes one embryo to make a baby. And before you stop the episode, and delete the podcast because I said that<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0just know that\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I'm<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0aware that it\u00a0actually takes\u00a0many embryos<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t takes many embryos, usually to find a normal embryo. But once you find that normal embryo, your chances are significantly improved. And the fact that they just retrieved two eggs, and both made it to blastocyst completely convinced Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">K<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">la<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">sky that Amanda did not require an egg donor.
