And I would say that things really went downhill when it started becoming like, okay, we\u00a0have to\u00a0have sex Wednesday<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0Thursday and Friday of this week<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nd then you're reading everything online, like hold your legs up<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0in t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">he air right afterwards. I was\u00a0really resentful, and I just remember crying in our living room\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o hard, and I feel ba<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">d.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I wasn't even being mean, I was just\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">crying<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0so hard that I remember thinking, this has to be really awful for him to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0but\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">it<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0felt like somebody died when they told me that his sperm count was so low.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lissa\u00a0Kl<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">ine<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">So much attention is put on the woman during a fertility treatment, that it can be easy to forget that male factor infertility is equally as prevalent as female infertility.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">G<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">enerally a third of all cases are due to some sort of issue on the female side, a third of all cases are due to some sort of issue on the male side, and a third of cases are due to some combination of the two or of unknown complications, wh<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ich<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is called unexplained infertility. But that doesn't make a male factor infertility diagnosis any easier to handle.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Brian Mazza:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I think this process kind of hurt our marriage and relationship in the beginning. You know, she was very resentful towards me and was very mad at me a lot. And I think maybe when it was time for me to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">go to a doctor I was like, I just don't feel like going<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0but I did.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chloe Melas<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">: I was just on his case, you know, it wasn't that I was mean<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I was just really on his case about it<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nd I'm very relentless. I'm just super, super, super on top of things to the point where it's incredibly annoying.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Brian Mazza:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">And I\u2019m the type of<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0person<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0if you're like constantly on top of me to do things,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I just won\u2019t do it.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>Changing Doctors<\/b>\r\n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">14:25<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0\u2013 16:13<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chloe Melas:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">We finally did our first IUI in July of 2016. We did the IUI, and we were so hopeful, so excited, and it was awful to find out that IUI didn't work.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lissa\u00a0Kl<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">ine<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0Unfortunately, their second attempt failed as well. While taking medications for a third round of IUI<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chloe had a revelation.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chloe Melas:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0It was in the middle of going through that cycle of medication days away from my third IUI, that I just had this overwhelming feeling that I was not at the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">r<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ight clinic.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lissa\u00a0Kl<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">ine<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0Living in New York City, the couple had several options to choose from. And they did some research and found a doctor that they really connected with.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chloe Melas<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">: He took my blood work, but he did an ultrasound in the office. And he said,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">y<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ou're totally overmedicated<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0in my medical opinion.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">his was not knowing about Brian's sperm count other than what he saw on paper. He's like, I just don't think that you should go through with your\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">IUI<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o I didn't go through with the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">IUI,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I stopped taking the medicine<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I canceled my appointment.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lissa\u00a0Kl<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">ine<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0Changing doctors in the middle of fertility treatments can be a very difficult thing. And it's a decision that should not be taken lightly. But Chloe says it's important for people to understand that it's an option.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Choe Melas:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I just felt like it wasn't the right place for me. That's something that I want to\u00a0definitely talk\u00a0about<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">just following your gut instincts and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0don\u2019t be\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">afraid to switch\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">octors in the middle of it. I feel like some of my girl and guy friends feel like, I started with them, I need to finish this with them. They have all my\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">PET<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0tests, they have everything, I need to stay.\u00a0So\u00a0I'm\u00a0really glad\u00a0I trust it in my gut.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>IVF<\/b>\r\n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">17:18<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0\u2013 18:22<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Choe Melas:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">I did not want to do IVF because I thought IVF was the end of the road, and that there was nothing after IVF.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"201341983":0,"335559739":160,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lissa Kl<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">ine<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0For Chloe, she feared that if IVF didn't work, it would mean that the couple wouldn't have kids.
