Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Copperman<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is the medical director of RMA of New York and serves as the medical director for Progyny&#8217;s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Medical Advisory Board, welcome.\u202fI&#8217;d also like to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">welcome<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">r.\u202fGerard\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Letterie<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u202fHe&#8217;s joining us today from Seattle Reproductive Medicine in Seattle<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0Washington and is also a member of Progyny&#8217;s Medical Advisory Board.\u202fDr.\u202fPhillip\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chenette<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is joining us from Pacific Fertility Center in San Francisco.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">1:00<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chenette<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is also a member of Progyny&#8217;s Medical Advisory Board and last but certainly not least, Dr.\u202fJonathan\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kort<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is also joining us from the Bay Area<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0from Reproductive Medicine Associates of Northern California.\u202fAnd in case you hadn&#8217;t noticed a pattern<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is also on our Medical Advisory Board here at Progyny.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">1:23<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0welcome everyone before we get started<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I want to let our viewers know that as you<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">r<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0all in mute mode, and so if you have questions as we go through the webinar.\u202fYou can enter them in the chat function in a panel on your screen and we&#8217;ll get to them towards the end.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">as<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0everyone knows on March 17thand then again on April 13th, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine or ASRM made recommendations that practices should complete ongoing cycles, but not to initiate new treatment cycles in terms of fertility.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">1:58<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">And so<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Copperman<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, I&#8217;d love to start by hearing your perspective on\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0ASRM&#8217;s guidelines and what do you think this meant for you<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0your practice and the field as a whole?\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">2<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">10<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Thanks<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lissa<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0for organizing today and for giving us all the opportunity to discuss this really important time in our history and the field of Reproductive Medicine. ASRM has given us guidance and some\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">on<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0the most complicated issues in that imaginable.\u202fThey&#8217;ve given us guidance on ethical issues<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0medical issues<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0when it&#8217;s time to start treatment<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0when it&#8217;s even time to stop treatment.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">2:30<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">And at this point they&#8217;ve given us some guidance and a framework so that we can decide the locally and regionally and nationally how to manage reproductive care for our patients.\u202fTheir first attempt was fairly strict.\u202fWe didn&#8217;t understand when the surge was going to be of this pandemic, of covid-19 in each of our local jurisdictions.\u202fThey didn&#8217;t know the capacity of hospitals.\u202fThey didn&#8217;t know the capacity of all of us as citizens of society to flatten the curve through social\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">distancing,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0so they were fairly strict.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">3:00<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">And over the last couple of weeks and in the upcoming weeks, my sense is that they&#8217;re going to become a little bit looser as we all locally realize that our situations between us and our patients are very individual and difficult to legislate on a national level.\u202fSo here in New York, we believe we&#8217;re past the surge and we&#8217;re starting to look forward to how we can safely deliver care to patients and that means social distancing,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">that means new technology.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">3:25<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">That means Telehealth and that also means that during this downtime we can have more communication with our patients rather than less.\u202fSo I think that ASRM has given us a framework to understand how to safely resume care, but we have to be in touch with them<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0give local feedback and once again focus on the patients in front of us and that&#8217;s going to give to our patients the best and the safest experience.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">3<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">50<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Thank you.\u202fThat&#8217;s helpful.\u202fAnd\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">so<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I want to pivot to Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Letterie<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. We know that this these guidelines and these recommendations meant that a lot of practices were closed for treatment and new treatments<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">And I do like pointing out that we&#8217;re seeing that likely start to open up.\u202fBut for right now we know that there are some services including initial consultations that can be performed via telemedicine.\u202fAnd\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">so<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I wondered if you can walk us through typically what&#8217;s completed during an initial consultation or diagnostic phase.\u202fWhat are the different parts of that and how long in general does that typically take for your patients getting started?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">4:30<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Thank you for the opportunity to chat with each of the members and thanks for arranging this<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I want to go back and just talk about what the cornerstone of a consultation is and that&#8217;s communication and establishing a relationship with your provider.\u202fAnd when we talk about\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth and in particular telemedicine<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth being the broader category with several subdivisions, one of them being telemedicine the idea is to just establish a different venue<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">5:03<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">for communication no less intimate are no less revealing than a face-to-face across the table and all of our patients should bring to that consult online those same expectations.\u202fThere should be no difference between the conversation that takes place as we&#8217;re having it now or as I have or any one of us has it with\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">patients<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and what happened in the consult room across the table.\u202fIt&#8217;s communication and patients should feel free to define exactly what they want.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">5:33<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">he fact that there&#8217;s a computer and an image in a monitor interposed should not change the intensity of the exchange<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, nor\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">the honesty and the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">frankness<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0of it and that goes for both sides.\u202fSo<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I think the idea behind this is just communication no different than we would experience if<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">we were in the same consult room.\u202fThere&#8217;s a couple of practical issues that I always warn patients about and one is the relatively limited field of view.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">5:59<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0if we&#8217;re sitting in a consult room and the patient can see me,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">they\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">can see my activities going from a pad of paper<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0to the screen<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0the monitor<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0the lab tests<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0back to them and establishing eye contact<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0back to the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">pad<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u202fIf you have a relatively limited field of view is sometimes you\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">doing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0telemedicine.\u202fI always inform patients that for me to break away from the screen or to jot things down doesn&#8217;t mean I&#8217;m any less attentive but I&#8217;m doing things that they would ordinarily be able to observe.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">6:28<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">And I think this is going to become a part of practice<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. I<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">f there&#8217;s any silver lining to the experience that we&#8217;ve all had<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0it&#8217;s the experience of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth and telemedicine and I think it&#8217;s going to become more important as those patients who come up through the ranks and need infertility care<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0those who are in their early 20s and transition to late 20s early 30s.\u202fThis is part of what they do. Talking about a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">lot of the formats, whether that is.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">6:54<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">GotoWebinar<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0or Zoom. If I have any questions about the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">technology<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I consult my 18 year old because this is second nature to her<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and to us, we&#8217;re sometimes referred to as digital immigrants. Everybody on our panel, a lot of the listening audience,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">this is all new.\u202fIt&#8217;s kind of superposed on the learning\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">p<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">aradigm<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hose that are coming up<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0they&#8217;re digital natives.\u202fThis is part of their DNA and I think this is going to be part of our clinical practice up ahead and I&#8217;ll stop there.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">7:25<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I think that&#8217;s great to talk about the initial consult and how you&#8217;re prepping your patients and what they should expect<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. B<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">esides just that first conversation<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, w<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hat\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">typically is in is involved in that first sort of introduction to your patients whether it&#8217;s at\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">SRM or\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">at\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0other<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0practices.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">7:5<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0it&#8217;s a review of why they&#8217;re here<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0what they want to get out of the consultation trying to stratify their history.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Why they might not be getting pregnant or if it&#8217;s fertility preservation<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0how that might play into their lives<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and then a discussion of the diagnostics<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0nice aspect of telemedicine is that you can turn the screen and share it and typically I try to have a series of slides that I can share with the patien<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t. I<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">n a face-to-face across the table consult<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0many of us will depend on drawings<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0giving patients notes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0opening up textbooks<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0whether it&#8217;s looking embryos or surgical procedures images<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">that we can supplement the conversation\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">with<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and telemedicine<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o different.\u202fYou can share the screen and have a stack of six or eight slides to illustrate for example in the initial consultation what each of the steps means<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0graphs of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">AMH<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, what th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e AMH\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">decline means overtime<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0images\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">HSGs<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is just to give the patient a sense as to what they can expect in a very visual way.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">8:50<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">That&#8217;s great.\u202fDr\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chenette<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, at PFC specifically or what your colleagues are doing.\u202fHow is your practice using\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth for those consult<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">?\u202fAnd then as I said for the for the diagnostics that are happening afterwards<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0specifically where your patience today in San Francisco in the Bay Area may not be able to travel to see you as they used to do.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">9:16<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">We&#8217;ve been developing\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth resources for quite\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">some time<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0month ago.\u202fWe were forced to jump into it<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">totally and now almost all of our normal first patient contacts and advice<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">diagnostic reviews and treatment plans are created by\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0by telemedicine<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hat differentiation between\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth and telemedicine is\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Letterie<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0mentioned is a very important one.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">9:50<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Telem<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">edicine is basically just doing what we&#8217;ve always done<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0Telehealth though is helping you achieve your health goals and there&#8217;s so many more resources<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0w<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e can bring to bear in an electronic visit than we can with our traditional in-person visits.\u202fI can bring\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">in<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0expert resources on the outside.\u202fI can bring my embryologist online to have a comment on the embryos<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">we can show pictures of the embryos that were created in the in vitro fertilization lab.\u202fWe can look at your test<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0r<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">esults<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0your\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">h<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ysterosalpingogra<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">m,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0your anti-<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Mullerian<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0hormone levels.\u202fWe can look at your ultrasound results.\u202fI can put them right up here on the screen and let you see what I what I see.\u202fIt is a tremendous tool<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I&#8217;m really pleased we&#8217;re here with this<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0with those resources now and wondering a little bit why we didn&#8217;t do this\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">long ago.\u202fWe do still some inpatient things.\u202fI mean, this is the fertility<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">world<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0it&#8217;s a\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">h<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ands-<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">n thing.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">10:52<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">We&#8217;ll do the initial\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">consultation,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0review your records<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0help you think about your family building goals and where you want to go with that and then we&#8217;ll bring you in for a 15-minute visit for a specific ultrasound or a diagnostic procedure<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hat enables to us to achieve all of these goals of getting you educated<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0getting you the appropriate treatment plan<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0getting the appropriate treatment in place and this helps with the community needs of social spacing and limiting viral transmission<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0protecting the clinics in the staff and our patients.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">11:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">34<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">At PFC specifically,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I know there are some ways that people can do<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0for example at home hormonal testing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0so finger prick for estrogen FSH<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0LH.\u202fAre you having patients today<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ome into the office or you finding Ways for them to complete those\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">iagnostics?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">11:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">52<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202fYes.\u202fWe&#8217;re still doing traditional lab tests<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0blood draws and things<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0but not generally in our office.\u202fThere are mobile blood draw stations that will actually come to your home to do that.\u202fAnd yes, absolutely.\u202fThere are more user-friendly test<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0of finger\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">p<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ricks and things like that that we&#8217;re bringing into practice.\u202fThere&#8217;s an issue is just to evaluate on those and it&#8217;s going to that&#8217;s going to take some time.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0B<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ut absolutely those\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">consumer-friendly<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0diagnostic tools are going to become a big part of what we do.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">12:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">22<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I like what you and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">r.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Letterie<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0said how there&#8217;s a silver lining to what Americans and really the world is going through<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is that the community we know is a really resilient and creative community in that the doctors<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0all of you and your colleagues are helping to adapt so patients aren&#8217;t missing out on getting started or continuing their\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">j<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ourney.\u202fThat&#8217;s great.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">12:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">47<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">We&#8217;ve been surfing a wave of technology for the last 25 years.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Right and this is one more piece<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. We<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0will\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">m<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">aster\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">this<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and it&#8217;ll be a tremendous tool for all of our patients.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">12:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">59<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Yeah, that&#8217;s great.\u202fDr.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kort<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0wanted to ask you<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0similar to what\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Letterie<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">r.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chenette<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0were saying<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0we know that the initial consult and a follow-up during that diagnostic phase can be done via video.\u202fTell us a little more about other pretreatment services that can be done from home<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0may be genetic<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0testing,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0preconception carrier screening\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">tc<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and why it&#8217;s important really for patients who\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">are thinking that they want to get started<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0why it&#8217;s important that they do<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">n fact get started now<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">13:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">32<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u202fYeah, a lot of the testing that we do during the initial\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">consult<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0includes genetic carrier testing and at a minimum at least a discussion of<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">what genetic carrier screening is and why it is worth considering for our patients.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">And a lot of the testing companies that perform these tests can actually mail a cheek swab to our patients and have that done remotely<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hese tests also have a turnaround time\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">time<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0of two or three weeks.\u202fAnd so<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0getting that testing done now is a good idea even if you&#8217;re not able to start your treatment cycles for another two or three weeks because that information is helpful to have before you start your treatment cycle<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">n case there are results that may change the type of treatment that is recommended.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">14:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">28<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Yeah, and then typically do you see in your practice that that patients will come in and have that initial consult<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0do that follow-up testing that you&#8217;re talking about and then don&#8217;t they usually sit back down with you or one of your colleagues and review those results<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nd are you continuing that during this time<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">14:4<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">9<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e are and you know those\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">visits<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0really lend themselves to tel<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">eh<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ealth visits because if they need to have a counseling with a genetic counselor, they need to discuss those results.\u202fIt&#8217;s very easy to do through a video chat.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">And so that&#8217;s something that patients can really make the most of this time while they&#8217;re actual treatment might be delayed<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and in around 1 percent of couples that information may change the type of treatment that we recommend and so\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t&#8217;s good to have that information before any treatment plan is started.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">15:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">28<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202fI like to about telemedicine<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, about t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth that you know before if I was entering treatment with my partner and we both had pretty hectic work schedules and lived across town San Francisco from each other and it&#8217;s hard to both meet up at your clinic<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0via Zoom or other modalities<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0y<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0can both join the conference with the position from where you&#8217;re sitting.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I think that&#8217;s really convenient for a lot of people<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">15:5<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">5<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">efinitely, you know, a lot of our patients who have partners are both working from home.\u202fAnd\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">so<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0we&#8217;re finding that, you know, a lot of our follow-up visits are involving both\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">p<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">artners, which is great<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nd something that when visits her in person and harder to get to we may have seen less frequently.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">16:13<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I like that so\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Copperman<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0you mentioned<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and I like that we have this lens, we&#8217;re starting to hear of clinics who were totally closed starting to open up and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">linics<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0who have<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0been partially open starting to expand\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ervices<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s regions across the country are starting to open back up<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202fI&#8217;d love to get your perspective on should patients feel safe moving forward now and what do you think that looks like in New York and across the country<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">16:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">48<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">G<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">reat questions.\u202fI think that the overwhelming\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">theme here\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is that we&#8217;re a precise specialty and we have precise recommendations.\u202fSo<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0on the female side, this is eggs and ovaries and hormones and timing and ovulation and preconception counseling<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. O<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">n the male side<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">here&#8217;s also the opportunity for health and wellness and engagement and they&#8217;re even at home sperm ki<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ts. A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nd on the couple side we can help time and do the carrier testing.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">17:14<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I think we hearing a story that this data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0pre everything.\u202fSo<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0as we start to lift some of these stay-at-home restrictions as we start to become feel a little bit safe<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">r<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u202fI think what we&#8217;re looking for is a safe environment to resume our essential reproductive care.\u202fSo<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0what does that mean for a clinic visit?\u202f I know we built in text messaging into our electronic medical records so that there&#8217;s a precise 15-minute window when a couple or patient is going to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">(<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">normally a patient in the partners<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is downstairs)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, but when a patient comes into the office and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">there\u2019s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0disinfectant of every surface and, of course<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2014<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">not that we need props to this<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2014there are masks<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0everywhere and every single surface has a disinfectant and the way were actually practicing medicine is completely different than it was 60 days ago because we&#8217;re learning from our colleagues in Southeast Asia.\u202fWe&#8217;re learning from our colleagues in Europe who are just getting better at this<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I can&#8217;t say that it is a safe world yet<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I do think we&#8217;re vectoring towards better and I think that we&#8217;re using knowledge to help\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">rive decisions.\u202fWhat I really am hearing from the biologists in the virologist is this coronavirus<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">his novel coronavirus is fairly similar to SARS MERS<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">either of which caused really catastrophic or even significant effects on eggs sperm and embryos and it&#8217;s truly my hope that as we acquire data, we can\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">omfort our patients<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0reassure patients<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and most importantly appropriately counsel our patients when it&#8217;s safe and that it&#8217;s safe to resume treatment.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">But I think that it&#8217;s through conversations like this that we&#8217;re going to actually lower the anxiety by giving some control back to our patients and that control comes from real hard scientific knowledge.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">18:5<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">9<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">That&#8217;s helpful.\u202fWe talked a lot about new patients.\u202fSo<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0patients just getting started whether that&#8217;s trying to conceive\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">immediately<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0or<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0preserve fertility for later.\u202fI also want to spend a little bit of time talking about established patient.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">19:15<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">So those patients of yours who were already on a journey<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0Maybe They&#8217;ve done the testing and done one treatment and are waiting to start the next and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Letterie<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">when you and I spoke the other day, you mentioned that there are services for fertility patients besides just the medical services and I like that you view your patients holistically, right?\u202fAnd you mentioned\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">b<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ehavioral\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">h<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ealth in particular how have you been today in your practice and with your colleagues?\u202fHave you been connecting your\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">patients<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0to those resources?\u202fAnd how is that going?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">19:50<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I the emotional aspect of this something for our patients that just simmers along to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Copperman\u2019s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0comments were getting things in line so that when the moment comes patients can initiate their IVF<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, it\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">more postponement than an actual missed opportunity for those patients<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. The\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">emotional aspect or the or the personal aspect for our patients continues on uninterrupted and if anything during this way just kind of increases<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">g<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">oes from a simmer to a boil<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o our patients<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0we had an outreach program where we tried to contact patients that we knew were having their\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ycles postponed and offering them counseling services online and with each of the patients we talk to now<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0we emphasize that although the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">p<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ractical<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0the nuts and bolts aspects of their infertility care and testing will be in place<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hey should also as an ongoing effort to contact our\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">m<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ental\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">h<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ealth\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">pecialists to discuss the emotional aspects.\u202fIt&#8217;s not as intimate as it is if you&#8217;re across the table, there&#8217;s something about being in the same room with a person or a provider\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">that<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0really can&#8217;t be replaced.\u202fBut that&#8217;s not to say that acute issues can&#8217;t be addressed very effectively online.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">21:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">13\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Yep.\u202fI<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0my life before\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Progyny<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u202fI&#8217;m a licensed clinical social worker.\u202fAnd\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">so<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I used to provide individuals and couples counseling and support<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0groups.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I know all of you really integrate that into your practices and I think that&#8217;s really important.\u202fI want to hear a little bit from\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kort<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chenette<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and I&#8217;ll start with\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">r.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">K<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ort<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u202fHow are you using\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth today to connect with your existing patient?<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202fSo those you&#8217;ve already seen in your practice?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">21:41<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Yeah for our patients who are trying to conceive now<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">w<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0appreciate how disruptive a pause with the in-person treatments might present to them, you know, our patients want to be pregnant yesterday and we want them to be\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">pregnant<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0as<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0soon as possible<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nd a lot of times things like lifestyle interventions or treatment strategies, which may\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nvolve longer preparations before the actual treatment<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0get put on the back burner because we&#8217;re so eager to get our patients in a treatment now and I think\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">what<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">r.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Copperm<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0mentioned about this not being time off or a complete pause<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0is really important that we want to make sure that we&#8217;re making forward progress<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nd for patients who are not able to resume in person treatments currently<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">his\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is a great opportunity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o have counseling on lifestyle factors or you know, occasionally weight loss or supplements that that might be helpful in preparing for when\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ir<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0in person treatments can resume and that can really help maximize the chances that they&#8217;re going to be successful when they are able to start those in person treatments.\u202fAnd\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">so<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I think really focusing on that<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0this<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0isn&#8217;t just time off<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0that there are things that we can do through\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">teleh<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ealth<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0through counseling that can really help their chances when they&#8217;re when we&#8217;re ready to resume.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">23:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">22<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">That&#8217;s great.\u202fAnd\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chenette<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">re you seeing similar things or have other experiences with your existing patients that you&#8217;re seeing in your practice?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">23:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">30<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">We&#8217;re seeing a lot of concern<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I mean, that&#8217;s who we are as a species, right?\u202fWe love to worry.\u202fWe&#8217;re not<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">eeing any real trouble associated with coronavirus and I think we all would point out to you that the patient group we work with is actually fairly low risk for viral infections and for problems<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hen you think about coronavirus, how long does it actually in your system if you get it?<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">We don&#8217;t really know but the guess is maybe 14 days and so the chance of that actually impacting you\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">w<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hile you&#8217;re on your fertility\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">j<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ourney or during pregnancy is actually fairly low.\u202fAnd then what we&#8217;ve done is to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nstitute<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2014<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">all of us have<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2014i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nstitut<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ed<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0protective measures for the clinic<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hat we take that initially very low risk and reduce it to an\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ultra low<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0risk just by screening procedures and testing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0things like that to protect the staff and our patients and the system.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0at the end of the day it is safe to do fertility care and all of us are working hard to ensure that safety for all of our patients.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">2<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">4<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">52<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">That&#8217;s great.\u202fI want to also mention that for\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Progyny<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0members<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hey have access as an added support, of course to their\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">P<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">atient\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">C<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">are Advocate and we know that goes a long way<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">his fear<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0anxiety and isolation that a lot of people are feeling during the quarantine.\u202fIt has to be addressed and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Progyny\u2019s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">PCAs<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">R<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">esolve<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s mental health groups and each of the programs support groups<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I think are essential because there is a feeling of loss time.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">There\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is a f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">eeling\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">of b<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">eing derailed and I think we have to give people on track.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0starting off with that phone call to the PCA.\u202fWhat\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0the geography<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0what is the problem being match<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ed<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0for the program and immediately getting connected with the right reproductive\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ndocrinology program<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0the right infertility program<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0or for somebody who wants to freeze the eggs<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0the right fertility program and then setting up a\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">cons<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ult.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202fAll the doctors here are in our practice that are make are providing Telehealth.\u202fIn fact<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0some of them seven<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ays a week.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0there is this feeling that their needs can be\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">met<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth consult as discussed by this panel is an important conversation.\u202fIt&#8217;s not a monologue but it&#8217;s actually a dialogue.\u202fIt&#8217;s a conversation.\u202fIt&#8217;s a getting to know you<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0it&#8217;s an informational session and then that will establish what the right treatment plan is<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0what the right coverage is.\u202fSo really just it starts with a phone call and then the doors start to open up.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">27:5<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">9<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">That&#8217;s great for\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Progyny<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0members they can\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ontact their PCA.\u202fI like that you called that out.\u202fThat&#8217;s a good first step and you can also find on our\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">website<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0y<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ou can start by looking at our in-network providers on\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Progyny<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.com and find any of these four\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">physicians<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0or one near you.\u202fThe next question that came in I&#8217;ll ask\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kort<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0if he would be so kind as to answer it<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">members<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0saying what kind of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">technology is being used by the doctors on the panel.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Do I need to download an\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">app<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and can my actual appointment be recorded so I can reference it later<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">?<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202fThat&#8217;s a good question.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">28:37<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I think this likely varies, you know between different practices.\u202fI&#8217;m sure that any practice within the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Progyny<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0network has some platform that is HIPAA compliant and secure.\u202fSo that patients can feel comfortable talking about very personal aspects of their reproductive lives.\u202fWe either will use a platform called Spruce Health.\u202fIt&#8217;s a HIPAA compliant<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0platform\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">for messaging that we also use for communication<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0but it also has video chat capabilities and Spruce does not have the ability to record chats.\u202fAlthough that is something you know, we could inquire about and but I&#8217;m sure that other platforms probably do have that\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ability..<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">29:32<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I would say to you if you have a phone as long as you&#8217;re letting your<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0doctor know<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0that that you are going to record it<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0most phones have a voice memo app.\u202fAnd\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">so<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0you could record it as long as the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">physician<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0understands that they&#8217;re being recorded to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I suppose you could do that in person as well and that same person ask the follow-up question.\u202fDo I need to sign a separate consent for\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">elehealth?\u202fDo you know\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dr\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kort<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, are<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">you\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">having your\u00a0<\/span><span asked for the screening questions before coming to the clinic.\u202fSo what questions am I asked before I make my\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">appointment<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and will that be the same now as when the restrictions potentially loosen?\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0your team asking any specific questions to patients before they sit down or dial in to see you?\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">30:4<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">7<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Oh<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0you mean relevant to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ny potential lurking infections?\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">30:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">51<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Yeah, I think that&#8217;s what they&#8217;re asking.\u202fThey&#8217;re saying for screening questions.\u202fWhat is what is happening before\u202fI&#8217;m coming to the clinic.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">3<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">1<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">03<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">So<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0I think there&#8217;s a two-part answer to this.\u202fWe always alert patients that they&#8217;ll be asked these questions so that they can\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">anticipate,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and we also alert them that\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">they respond positive to questions.\u202fLike have you had any symptoms of a URI<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0that temperature elevation<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0anything that would\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">queue us of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">probably nothing.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">m<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ore than a typical viral infection but a potential latent infection for Coronavirus<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0that they&#8217;ll be asked not to come into the clinic.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ll of us staff have their temperatures taken daily and everyone wears a little colored button kind of approving them for participation for the day, but most importantly I think just advance notice to the patients<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hose two things<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. O<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ne is it gives them reassurance that the environment is going to be<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">afe for them<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0that were thinking about this.\u202fIt&#8217;s not business as usual.\u202fBut the second is<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0in the unfortunate circumstance where somebody might have a temperature elevation or tick off one of the symptoms<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hey&#8217;ll be asked to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">leave<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and we don&#8217;t want that to be as surprised and disappoint<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ment<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">32:07<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">It&#8217;s helpful<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. This is a question\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">of mine and I guess if I&#8217;m thinking it others might<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0be do you continue that through a cycle?\u202fFor instance<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0someone&#8217;s doing a treatment cycle?\u202fAre you continuing those screenings throughout their visits to your practice?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">32:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">2<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">7<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202fI think the best answer to that is until further notice<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">32:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">3<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">9\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">hat makes sense.\u202fAnd then the last question that&#8217;s come in so far and I&#8217;ll ask\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">r.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chenette<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0if he&#8217;s willing to take this one.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">his is a good question and I can I can help you answer this to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">o Dr.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Chenette<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.
