I was happy I felt the joy and I did not feel a whole lot of anxiety. And I think part of that came from some sense of naive like, \u201cthis can't happen again\u201d. It was\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">kind of ironic as I\u2019d been listening to this podcast for the past few months<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, yet we hadn\u2019t\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">looked into<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0his insurance to see it he had it. When he pulled up the membership guide, I thought, \u201cOh my goodness,\u201d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0this is the insurance company that runs the podcast!<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0It was a funny coincidence.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"134233117":true,"134233118":true,"201341983":0,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Brandi Guthrie:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Kelly\u2019s husband works at Microsoft, and Microsoft employees have coverage for fertility treatments through\u00a0Progyny, and yes,\u00a0Progyny\u00a0is the company behind this podcast.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"134233117":true,"134233118":true,"201341983":0,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">But people can\u2019t change onto a new insurance during the year willy\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">nilly<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, they need to either wait for open enrollment, which is usually at the end of the year, and the new insurance kicks in on January 1, or they can change insurance midyear if there is what is called a \u201cqualifying life event\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"134233117":true,"134233118":true,"201341983":0,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Qualifying life events include a marriage, having a baby, or losing health coverage.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"134233117":true,"134233118":true,"201341983":0,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Well the couple was already married, obviously they weren\u2019t going to be able to have a baby in order to switch insurance, and Kelly loved and valued her job.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{"134233117":true,"134233118":true,"201341983":0,"335559740":240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">But that is when something happened.
