They are siblings, coworkers, partners, friends, mothers, and healthcare consumers.<\/p>\n<p>According to the 2017 Kaiser Women\u2019s Health Survey, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/womens-health-policy\/issue-brief\/women-work-and-family-health-key-findings-from-the-2017-kaiser-womens-health-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">80% of women<\/a> identify as the primary healthcare decision maker in their household. They\u2019re comparing insurance plans, choosing providers, scheduling appointments, and following up with treatments for their family members (in addition to making decisions regarding their own health).<\/p>\n<p>Employers are taking note as women demand benefits that support all aspects of their lives. As a response, many companies now offer fertility benefits that support the full spectrum of family building.<\/p>\n<p>Infertility is a disease that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/fastats\/infertility.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">impacts 1 in 8 couples<\/a>. Despite its prevalence, most companies don\u2019t offer comprehensive coverage. This leaves employees to navigate a stressful situation without the necessary emotional and financial support to make the most effective decision.<\/p>\n<p>Karin Ajmani, president at Progyny, knows this dilemma all too well.
